Man killed in Marshfield crash was set to marry this fall - The Patriot Ledger

"He loved his family and he loved people he didn't even know."Saad, 27, has been identified as the victim in a Marshfield motorcycle crash Friday night. The accident occurred at the corner of Summer and Church streets.The Saad family moved to the South Shore in 1995, and Matthew graduated from Marshfield High School in 2009. He went on to graduate from the University of New Hampshire with a medical microbiology degree and worked as a volunteer firefighter in Roslyn, N.Y. and EMT for Brewster before moving onto Biotronik, a biomedical tech company where he worked in the cardiac-rhythm management division.Saad was scheduled to marry Kristen Marie Silva, a Plympton native and a nurse, on Sept. 7. The pair recently bought their first home together in Halifax."His patients loved him," Silva said. "He would even come see the patients at my hospital sometimes, and they loved him, too."Saad loved to kayak, water ski and snowboard and would spend hours learning to cook traditional Arabic food with his cousin and grandmother."He was just one of those people who was good at everything," Barbara Saad said. "He loved to do so many things, but he never just said 'I'm going to go do this,' he wanted to do it with his friends and the people he loved."Barbara and Ramzi Saad, Matthew's parents, live in Marshfield. He is also survived by his brother Benjamin, 25, sister Amelia, 15, and dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins."He was funny; he was so funny," Barbara Saad said. "And most of all — he was happy."A visitation will take place Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home in Scituate. There will be an honor guard memorializing his time spent with the Roslyn Fire Department.  A funeral will be held Thursday at St. Mary of the Nativity Church.In lieu of flowers, Saad's family is asking for donations to The Matthew Saad Memorial Fund set up at Eastern Bank. The funds will be used for a donation in his name to the nonprofit Medicines for Humanity.
